It had been a long, exhausting day for her – a blur of endless tasks and demands. Yet, despite it all, she had fought for a moment to be with him. Stealing time from the world around her, she walked into the room quietly, hoping to surprise him. After a few soft words of greeting, the fatigue overwhelmed her, and she drifted into sleep on a chair.

He watched her in the dim light, his heart swelling with warmth. How lucky he felt to have her – someone who battled through her busy life just to be by his side. She looked so tired, so vulnerable, yet so lovely. Quietly, he moved closer, his gaze resting on her peaceful, trusting face. Emotions stirred deep within him as he thought about the struggles she carried, the quiet strength she bore, and the simple, beautiful desire she had to be with him.

Standing just behind her, he leaned down gently, pressing a soft, tender kiss to her lips – light, but filled with all his affection. In that kiss, he wanted her to feel it all… how much he liked her, how deeply he understood her, and how grateful he was for her presence.

He wasn’t sure how long the kiss lasted. Time blurred as their breaths slowly synchronised, and for a brief moment, it felt as though she was about to react, her lips starting to open slightly. Like a thief caught in the act, he quickly pulled away, returning quietly to his place. She remained still, lost in sleep. Nothing had happened… or so it seemed.

Later that evening, they chatted as they always did, sharing stories of care and longing. But something flickered in her mind. With a teasing tone, she asked, "By the way… did you kiss me in the room today?"

With a playful smile, he texted. “I don’t know… hihi.”

She let out a long sigh. “Hmmmm… I must’ve been dreaming then.” But there was a glimmer of certainty in her mind. "That was a dream?" she asked again.

He smiled softly, answering halfway. “Maybe… It was such a beautiful dream.”

And somehow, she seemed to understand – what had happened or what could have happened. Laughing lightly, she nodded. “Haha.” “Okay. It was a dream.” “Not real.”

But whether it was a stolen kiss or simply a dream, it no longer mattered. Just days ago, she confessed that she liked him a lot. In the quiet affection they shared, the truth was not necessary. What mattered was the feeling – the warmth that lingered, the tenderness they carried for each other.

He teased her with a playful grin. “Which version of you is living in dreams? The original or the newly established one?”

“I don’t know,” she replied simply.

And with a gentle warmth letting her know that they had the same thought, he said, “We don’t need to know, right?”

Because when two hearts are deeply connected, words become unnecessary.

“I’m always happy when your messages pop up,” he added quietly. “It means you miss me.”

Laughing softly, she replied with ease, “Haha. Yes… I’m thinking about you right now.”

The words flowed so naturally now, carrying the sweetness of their affection – an affection that filled every second of every day. Whether it was a dream or reality, it didn’t matter. What they felt… was real.
