Aslam was taken to the city hospital after he fell off from the road down into the riverbed almost thirty feet below. All of his family members rushed to the river, but before they could reach, a pure gentle soul stopped his jeep, jumped into the water, and rescued him.
Everybody said that the boy would not survive after the incident. But the man handed the situation with precision. He grabbed Aslam by the collar and pulled him out of the water. Fortunately, Aslam did not receive any serious injury and was safe after the first aid. Everybody praised the bravery of man. He disappeared after saving Aslam’s life, driving away toward an unknown place.
Rumors spread in the village that he was an angel sent by God. They slaughtered two goats in the morning and one sheep for dinner to give as Sadaka to poor people. Everybody was surprised about the man who came out of the blue. Some said he was the “Savior Angel.” Others said he was Khizer, the Prophet’s guide.
The next day, when Aslam was brought home, the molvi Sahab came to ask about his health. Villagers gathered and sweets were distributed among the poor workers. Molvi Sahab gave a long sermon, and at the end he said “God sends angels to save the gentle and pure souls”. Everybody chanted with full voice, “God is great”.
After the sermon, people went back to their work, while Aslam’s mother kept repeating, “God sends angels to save the gentle and pure souls”. She was very emotional and kept saying “May the mighty God send angels to save all the children”. She repeated it again and again whenever the village woman came to console her.
When Aslam fully recovered, he went to school. The teachers welcomed him warmly. He was asked to recite the national anthem. As he was about to start a sudden noise broke the silence. A fire sparked at the entrance and someone rushed into the assembly hall at a full speed. He pressed the button and, in an instant, a loud blast wiped out the assembly hall.
Blood burst from the little flowers, who gathered to sing, scattering on the walls of school.
Everybody rushed to the school. Aslam’s mother ran out of her home without a Chador. She was beating her head kept repeating the same sentence:
“God sends angels to save the gentle and pure souls”
