1995- Sonny and Candy have been in Iowa for a few years now. He makes a list of his lucky number seven friends
1-Pastor Joseph F Wall (Pastor of Christ of King Church .River landing city.)
2-Dennis Mason(general manager of hills mall. Also Captain of the Iowa National Guard.)
3-Jefferson O’Brien(Maintenance man. First Sergeant in the Iowa national guard. Deacon of Christ the king church.)
4-Jefferson O'Brien’s son Coolbreeze (Nicknamed by Coolbreeze’s wife.)
5-Coolbreeze's wife
6-7 Tom and Curt from Brooklyn.
One sour note- Johnny and Ruth also move to Iowa.
Sunday after church- The church members are having coffee. Dennis comes up to Sonny.
“My wife told me that the cops picked up your friend Johnny for disorderly conduct. He is in jail and will be released tomorrow. Can you talk to him when he gets out?’
Sonny replies ‘I will try, but we don't get along.’
Dennis sees another man named Jeff.
‘There’s Jeff.’
Sonny says ‘I want to tell you something. I have five hundred cans for you. Do you want me to give them to you next week?’
Jeff replies ‘I am sorry. I have duty next week at the airport.’
Sonny says ‘You mean the airfield?’
‘Yeah.’
Sonny says ‘I will leave them in the office.’
Jeff says ‘Good. I have to do something, so I will leave and I will see you guys another time.’
Dennis says ‘Let's go back to the coffee and speak to the pastor.’
Sonny goes with Dennis.
Sunday night at the church’s women's club - Candy is talking to Dennis’ wife Margaret.
Margaret says ‘That was a great sermon from the pastor about forgiveness.’
Candy says ‘You are right. By forgiving everyone, I live a better life.’
Margaret asks ‘How about you and your husband come visit us. You haven't been to our place in a while.’
Candy says ‘Call me this weekend and we can set something up.’
Margaret says ‘Fine’
They all leave to go home.
Kool Aid went to college in Iowa and married a woman named Stella, who is ten years older than him and was married before, but her husband died in a car accident. She works at a bank called Western bank. He works at the nearby baseball field as a groundskeeper. He was nicknamed Kool Aid by his wife because of his bright smile. They live not too far away from his parents, Sonny and Candy. Kool Aid and his wife helped Sonny and Candy move out to Iowa. Now Kool Aid and Stella are married and will be together for a long time.
Monday morning- Johnny is talking to Curt. Johnny wants to see Sonny. It is very important.
Curt says ‘He is at a meeting and is busy the rest of the day, so you have to come back during the week.’
Johnny says stupid stuff.
Curt says ‘I know you are from Brooklyn. So if you don't leave now I will call security.’
Johnny is about to say something but Curt says ‘Start getting sober. Now get out of here.’
Jonny leaves in a huff.
Tuesday- Johnny goes to the Hills mall. He wants to see the GM to give him some information.
When Johnny is talking to Dennis, who is the GM of Hills mall, Johnny lets Dennis know that the information contains Sonny's military conduct and his drinking problem.
Dennis says ‘I know who you are. My wife is the mayor of Lone Tree where you live. If you are not here for business purposes, I will have you barred from the mall.’
Johnny says ‘I can report you to headquarters.’
Dennis says ‘You can do whatever you like. Just leave now and if you come back, I will have you arrested.’
Johnny leaves.
Wednesday - Johnny talks to the pastor Wall about Sonny.
The pastor says ‘What Sonny did in the past, he has to deal with it on his own. Pray to God and have God tell you what to do.’
Johnny yells ‘You are like everyone else. You’re taking Sonny's side’
The pastor tells him to go home and pray.
Johnny says ‘If you were not a pastor, I would tell you what I really think of you.’
The pastor tells Johnny to have a great day and the pastor leaves.
Thursday night at a PAR meeting- Johnny is acting up and is talking about Sonny.
The speaker says ‘It seems you are making this all about you. If you don't stop disturbing everyone, you will be asked to leave.’
Johnny yells out at the speaker and Johnny is escorted out.
The next day at work, Tom is telling Sonny about Johnny last night.
Sonny just says ‘Johnny is a jerk. I don't want to hear anymore about him. Let's get back to work.’
Johnny is at the ‘College Airfield’ and is talking to Jeff , who is on special duty.
Johnny asks ‘Can I get a ticket here so I can go back to New York?’
Jeff answers ‘This is only for college personnel and students. It doesn't leave the state.’
Johnny gets angry once again.
‘If I was Sonny I would get it.I can tell you things about Sonny that would shock you.’
Jeff stops him. ‘Look, this is for college personnel. I don't know who you are, but I will call the cops.’
Johnny yells ‘Some Christian you are!’
Jeff yells ‘Get out, now!’
Johnny leaves.
The baseball field in river landing city- Kool Aid is showing the field to his wife before the game. As Kool-Aid runs to the restroom, Johnny appears and heads Stella ‘s way.
Johnny tells her “You know your father in law is no saint. He did things he should not have done.”
Kool-Aid sees this and runs to find out what is going on after he comes back.
Stella says " This man is bothering me.”
Kool-Aid says " Leave my wife alone!”
Johnny says " If you only knew.”
Johnny walks away.
Sonny, Curt, and Tom have coffee together.
Curt asks ‘Do you know how park slope caton got its name?’
Nobody knows.
" Remember Tim Day?”
Tom says " Mr. Serenity.”
Curt says " Yes, but he was also the sports historian for Kings county. After he retired, he moved to the Midwest and formed that group.”
The other two men laughed.
Sonny and Candy are in the residence and Sonny comes up with an idea.
“Why don't we have a barbecue and invite everyone?"
Candy says " That is ingenious. We can invite our daughter and her husband from New York.”
Sonny says “Let's do it."
Johnny is talking to his mentor in the program.
His mentor tells him ‘You have been acting stupid. You are on something and it isn't my business, but I will call the cops if you don't change ‘
Johnny says ‘I will change.’
His mentor says ‘This time you will be going to jail for a very long time.Try to act as a mature person.’
Johnny answers ‘I will ‘
Johnny just goes.
Iowa Fat Lou, Johnny’s mentor, talks to him after a PAR meeting.
"You seem to be doing better. No alcohol and no drugs. Remember, be humble. You have to love and respect people. You don't have to like them.”
Johnny says " Thanks very much. I will do exactly what you say.”
They both leave.
Sonny is calling the gang to see if they are coming to the BBQ. They say yes. Candy later makes her calls to Johnny and Ruth. To see if they are coming to the BBQ. They say yes too.The stage is set.
August 26th- Johnny gets up and takes a shower. After the shower, he and Ruth are in the kitchen.
Johnny says ‘I will get even with Sonny. He will pay.’
After those words are spoken, Johnny goes to the living room and makes a phone call.
After the phone call he says ‘Before we go to Sonny’s place, we will stop off to get extra hamburgers.’
Ruth says ‘No problem.’
They then leave.
Sonny is barbecuing in the back yard with Curt and Tom. Everyone else is sitting around a patio table.
Candy says to Sonny ‘This is a great party. Too bad our daughter is not here.’
Sonny says ‘That’s what happens when you marry a cop.’
Johnny gets up and walks to the trash can. As he comes back, he sees Sonny talking to Candy. Johnny takes out a knife and stabs Sonny in the shoulder blade while Sonny has his back turned to Johnny.
After the incident, Candy tells her son to go into the house to call the cops.Then she calmly levels Johnny by kneeing him where it hurts the most.
The police interrogate Johnny, with his lawyer.
One of the cops told him “We talked to a few of the witnesses. Pastor Wall and his wife, his staff members Curt, Tom and Jeff O'Brien and Dennis’ wife. We talked to Sonny's wife, son and daughter-in-law. They say the same thing.You walked behind him and stabbed him for no reason. Before Sonny and his wife were married, you dated Candy. I will leave and you can talk it over with your lawyer.I will be back in a half an hour”
When the officer comes back John says “You forgot one person, Jeff. Let me tell you something. They are all on his side. You should talk to his family. They will tell you a different story. He even stole my girlfriend and married her."
The lawyer tries to stop Johnny from talking.
Johnny says “I am speaking my mind. Sonny got what he deserved."
The lawyer tells the officer he would like to talk to his client alone. The officer leaves.
Ruth calls up Joanne to tell her about what happened.
Joanne says “Don't worry. Just tell Johnny to use his head. I will get back to you soon."
After the call, Joanne makes phone calls herself.
When the calls are done, she calls Ruth and tells her that she will get a call from a guy in Iowa. He will give her money and tell her how they will get Johnny out of trouble.
Candy visits Sonny in the hospital.
Candy says ‘Ruth has not talked to me since the incident and Joanne called to see how you were doing and hopes you make a full recovery.’
Sonny says ‘The job told me that I have nothing to worry about. I should be back to work by October. Full benefits. Our daughter plans to make a trip out here.’
Candy says ‘That is wonderful. I don't want to take much of your time.I will go home and visit you again.’
They kiss and Candy leaves.
At Johnny’s lawyer's office, another lawyer walks in and says ‘I am here to help you in the defense of Johnny through friends of Johnny.You are still in charge.’
The main lawyer says ‘I have to think about it. I will give you a call tomorrow and give you my answer.’
Joanne's talking to her husband.
Her husband asks “Why are you getting involved with this? Sonny is your brother. Sonny is the one who got stabbed. You should be helping him.”
Joanne says " Sonny is an embarrassment. He deserves it like my father. We are married. Look at my point of view.”
Joanne leaves.
Pastor wall is doing his ministry but asks his congregation to pray for Sonny. He is improving but it will take some time.
Dennis and his wife visit Sonny once a week. Same as Jeff. Curt, Tom, and Candy see him on a regular basis. Curt and Tom tell him about the corporate operations. Sonny's son and his daughter in law visit as well.

I was born in Brooklyn, NY June 30th 1972. I currently have three ebooks online on kobo. I know I never meant that much to you, secession and sovereignty and Oh, Canada. I am currently trying to get a few of my short stories published or recognized or plays getting produced. I have written a lot of plays and am currently in the process of writing several novels.
